Woodbine Willie's name honoured in Ripon PICTURED is a a packet of 10 Wild Woodbine Cigarettes, by W.D. & H. O. Wills of Bristol & London (Packet dated approx 1954). STORY about the vicar, Rev Geoffrey Studdert Kennedy Kennedy who earned the nickname 'Woodbine Willie' after handing out cigarettes to troops during his time as a chaplain in the First World War on the Western Front.
