The finale of the 28th Jorvik Viking Festival in the Eye of York (near Clifford's Tower), North Yorkshire. 250 Vikings gathered to perform to 1,200 spectators which finished with stunning fireworks set off from Clifford's Tower, this was to represent Valhalla, which in Norse mythology is where those who died in battle go. In 866 AD the city was captured by the Vikings. under Ivar, Halfdene and Hubba, where it gained the name Jorvik, which later became modern York.
